This blog is having an
existential crisis

While I tinker with a new design, I’m also pondering how, what, and why I write here. I don’t know how long that will take, but you’re welcome to email me and see how things are progressing.

Stress-testing the
mind of Christ

Where a recovering ex-atheist rams the Bible into other worldviews to see what breaks (note: Scripture cannot be broken)

Should Christians fast?

The answer may surprise you. It did me.

In our most recent worldview study for Thinking Matters Hamilton, we looked into what the Bible says about fasting.

This was a surprisingly interesting study for me, because what I found wasn’t what I expected. I had always thought that fasting was more of a cultural practice in ANE times that wasn’t really relevant to Christians today, and that there was no particular reason to think we should do it.

As you’ll see in the study notes, however, I think Scripture strongly recommends fasting for all believers—not just Old Covenant ones.
